Pacific Judicial Development Program
The Pacific Judicial Development Program is a multi-lateral, regional project to build the capacity of Judges, Magistrates and Court Clerks across all courts of Pacific Forum Islands Countries. The project has a very significant training focus and thus far has:
- undertaken training needs analyses for Judges, Magistrates and Court Clerks;
- supported the development and strengthening of a system of National Coordinators for judicial training;
- conducted ‘Judicial Trainer' programs to build the capacity of local trainers to design, deliver and evaluate continue training activities without input by international consultants;
- conducted training on court rules, procedures and a range of technical specialities, including family and the law; juvenile justice; and court practice;
- developed a ‘Bench Book' to guide the day to day activities of Court Clerks within courts of all jurisdictions;
- undertaken business process improvement activities for the Court Clerk and Court Registry Processes within participating courts; and
- developed a monitoring and evaluation strategy to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of project activities and training within the participating judiciaries.
Global Justice Solutions provides wide-ranging technical guidance, and overarching leadership, management and administration of the entire project in association with the Federal Court of Australia.
