Global Justice Solutions supporting the Australian Federal Police in Timor-Leste

Global Justice Solutions (GJS), now Coffey International Development (Security & Justice), has recently been awarded a contract to deliver advisory services to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in support of its implementation of the Timor Leste Police Development Program (TLPDP).

The TLPDP objective is to strengthen the capacity of the police service in Timor-Leste.

The primary responsibility of the GJS Advisory Team is to support the AFP in its capacity building work with the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (GDRTL), Secretary of State for Security (SoSS), Policia Nacional de Timor-Leste (PNTL), civil society representatives and other stakeholders.  Building on its already significant law and justice sector experience in the Asia and Pacific regions GJS will provide advisory services in Timor-Leste through specialist skills and support.

The GJS TLPDP Advisory Team commenced service delivery on 1 January 2011 and includes a Senior Management Advisor, Advisory Team Leader, Administration Advisor, Education Advisor, Human Resource Management Advisor, Information Technology Advisor, Infrastructure Development Advisor, Planning Advisor, Capacity Development Facilitator and Procurement and Logistics Advisor. A locally engaged GJS Advisory Team member is also providing Office Management/Internal IT Support Services.
